The bed should be all the way out of the scanner. If scanbed is not fully out of the scanner when loading a subject, click here

1) While reassuring subject's comfort, offer pillows, a sheet, or blankets for comfort.

2) Lower the scanbed and help subject board: (move the joystick down to desired height)

2) Subjects lie supine on the scanbed. Head rests as deeply as possible into the head coil area. Subjects must lie completely still and as square to the coil as possible.

3) For adult subjects, offer the emergency squeeze bulb: ( triggers an alarm to stop scanning )

3) Raise the scanner to its maximum height (hold the joystick up until it stops)

Note:

The pads and adjustable pieces in the scanroom may help a subject remain comfortable and immobile.
