ALBMC MRI Safety Training
All users of the MRI equipment in the ALBMC are required to have MR safety training as follows:
- Initial safety training and certification for new users consisting of:
- self review of online safety information
- a 75 minute safety orientation consisting of viewing a safety DVD followed by a short presentation of site specific safety issues
- a passing score on a safety quiz that covers the online materials, the DVD and the site specific presentation
- orientation to the safety features of the scanner room(s)
- a passing score on a practical safety examination in which a working knowledge of the safety features and procedures in the scanner room is demonstrated
- Annual safety retraining and certification which is provided on-line via the Brain Mapping database.
Sessions for the DVD and site specific presentation are held in the ALBMC main conference room. Please contract Trent Thixton (TThixton@mednet.ucla.edu) to reserve a seat for initial training or annual retraining in one of these sessions
Sessions are typically scheduled twice monthly. Before attending a session, you should make sure that you have a Brain Mapping database account, since training records are stored with these accounts. New accounts can be requested via the link found here.
